Cromer Lawn Tennis & Squash Club

Two squash courts, which have recently been refurbished with new LED lighting and glass doors, were opened in 1980 and are available to both members and non members. All members are encouraged to join the club's internal leagues where players are split into "boxes" of six and play each other over a six week period. Promotion and relegation then applies.

An annual club tournament is held each year and the 2017 winner was Martin Guppy  who beat Alex Oliver in the final. Also, to encourage older members an Over 35 tournament in memory of a former member, Jeff Morris, is also held on an annual basis and this was won in 2017 by John Baker who beat Philip Godfrey in the final while a veterans tournament for those aged 45 and over is also held annually and this was a repeat of the Over 35 final as John Baker again beat Philip Godfrey.

In the spring of each year a popular handicap tournament takes place where every body who enters is given a points handicap and, in theory, everybody has an equal chance of winning. The 2018 winner was Matthew Jordan who beat Martin Sanville 3-0 in the final.

The club currently runs one team in the Norfolk SRA Squash Leagues and in 2017-18 they finished in third place in Division Three. A team is also entered in the summer leagues, which are less competitive, and in which we try and include as many members as possible. In 2017 the team finished third in Division Two.

For the first time in 2017 we entered a team in Division Two of the Norfolk SRA Racketball (Squash 57) league and finished in fourth place.

Finally, throughout the year we try and arrange a number of "fun" evenings for members, usually on the first Wednesday of each month

If you have not played squash or racketball and would like to give it a try do come and have a go.
